1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Global Wall of Gratitude: your email address (used only to send your order confirmation and a direct link to your published card); the name and message you write, which are published publicly on the wall; the photo you upload, which is published publicly on the wall; your choice of frame color and message font, which is published publicly as part of your card's appearance; and your IP address, collected temporarily when you use the "Boost Star" or "Report" feature (to prevent duplicate boosts or reports on the same card), and during free promotional periods, to enforce a daily limit on free submissions per visitor. We do not require or store account passwords, and we do not collect any information beyond what is listed here.

2. Legal Basis for Processing (EU/EEA Users)

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process your data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (processing your email, name, message, photo, and card customization choices is necessary to deliver the free service you requested), and legitimate interest (processing your IP address for star-boost deduplication, report deduplication, and daily free-submission limits during promotional periods, each limited to its specific purpose).

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We share your data only with the necessary third-party service providers who help us operate the platform: our email delivery provider (transactional emails only), our hosting provider (server infrastructure), Cloudflare (bot protection), and OpenAI (automated content screening). We do not process payments on this website and therefore hold no payment or financial account data whatsoever. If you choose to support us through Ko-fi, that transaction happens entirely on Ko-fi's own website, under Ko-fi's privacy policy, and we never receive your card or bank details.

4. Cookies & Analytics

We use only essential cookies required for the site to function. We do not currently use analytics or advertising trackers.

5. Data Retention

Your card (photo, name, message, and any frame/font customization) may remain publicly visible for as long as the Global Wall of Gratitude service operates, unless it is removed at your request, for legal or moderation reasons, or where retention is otherwise required by law. Your email address is retained only as long as necessary to provide support related to your order. IP addresses collected for star-boost or report deduplication, or for daily free-submission limits, are retained only as long as necessary for that specific purpose. Once the applicable retention period ends, data is deleted, and rights such as access or correction can no longer be exercised for that data.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data (note: this removes your card from the public wall); object to processing based on legitimate interest; restrict processing in certain circumstances; receive a copy of your data in a portable format; and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@globalwallofgratitude.com. We will respond within one month.

7. User-Generated Content & Moderation

Users are responsible for the content they submit. We reserve the right to review, restrict, or remove content that violates our Terms of Service, infringes third-party rights, contains illegal or harmful material, impersonates another person, or otherwise violates our policies. Data related to content reports (such as the reporting visitor's IP address, used solely for deduplication) is processed as described in Section 1.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services require users to be 18 years or older as a condition of use, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

9. System Logs

For security and maintenance purposes, our hosting provider may automatically log technical data such as IP addresses, browser type, and request timestamps.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the Effective Date above.
